A 15-30 minute walk in the park will get you to a few of Amsterdam’s most important museums ( Rijksmuseum, van Gogh-museum and the Stedelijk museum ). These museums, as well as the Concert Hall, are also easily reached by public transport. The centre of Amsterdam (take streetcar line nr 1 from the Overtoom) also knows a few places showing you the rich history of the town, such as the Museum van Loon, Museum Willet-Holthuysen and the Amsterdams-Historisch Museum.

Shopping

The Vondelpark gives access to several up-market shopping streets such as the P.C. Hoofstraat and the van Baerlestraat. The Overtoom itself offers a wide choice of shops and restaurants. The centre of Amsterdam is easily reached by taking streetcar line nr1 which stops just on the corner of the street.
